|Dawn of a day, dawn of a new year.|
It’s the second day of 2013, and I’m amazed that it’s yet another year already. It feels like 2012 flew by, and I can only home that 2013 will be better than the past year has been. Granted, I did manage to fulfill some of my own personal goals like making it off the continent, but I also had to cope with the possibility of facing loss of sight in my left eye. On the whole, though, that’s how every year goes: some good, some bad, and then before you know it, it’s another year again.
Despite the downfalls that seem to be inevitable in every year, I can’t overlook the fact the rough times are softened by the comfort friends and family can provide. And the good times? I can’t think of a single instance where I was happy and being joined by others in my revelry didn’t make me happier. The years come and go, but I’m glad that for the most part, my friendships don’t fall apart.
There are 363 days left in 2013, and it’s highly likely that I’ll be looking at making a decision about which law school to attend on one of them. In the meantime, I don’t want to worry about it. It’s a tough call, knowing that everyone will be asking me about it and whether I stay near or go far will impact some of my present relationships. That’ll be then, though, and I will cross that bridge when I get to it.
