Whenever I think back to my most productive times, I was using a planner/calendar system of some sort. I don’t know if it’s because as humans we’re such visual creatures, and something about the act of writing forces us to actually see how we spend our time, or if there’s something to physical act of holding a pen or pencil and making a record, but it definitely does help. At the very least, something about the act forces one to be honest with oneself about how long it takes to complete a task, and plan ahead accordingly.
My favorite planner that I’ve been using for the past two years is the Passion Planner. The quote above I actually found in my 2016 planner, earlier this year. As the seasons shift to fall, it seems fitting that even Mother Nature cannot force all the leaves to brown simultaneously one the same tree. Everything is a process, and processes take time. Sometimes, like when in school, we’re fortunate enough to know when the end is in sight (the last day of class). Other times, like with this journey of life, all we know is that we have this day, and it is a day we can use to move ourselves forward.
